The ability to break ankles is a skill that's learned on the playground and carried over to the world of organized hoops by some of the best ballers in the nation. In honor of the true roots of the game, we've broken down the best handles in the 2001 NBA Draft class. These are the cats who run with the rock on a string and leave embarrassed defenders in their wakes. Enjoy.

10. Joe Forte - UNC, G, 6-4 - The 'Heels are on a roll, and a lot of it has to do with Forte's ability to take over when he needs to.

9. Dajuan Wagner - Camden High, G, 6-1 - You think you score 100 without being able to handle? Juanny gets whatever shot he wants, whenever he wants it.

8. Frank Williams - Illinois, G, 6-3 - We always knew he could handle and get to the rim. Now he looks like he can run a team, too.

7. Horace Jenkins - William Paterson, G, 6-1 - D-III defenders might as well be parking cones on the court when the Ho Train is rollin'.

6. Jason Gardner - Arizona, PG, 5-10 - A stronger - although not taller - version of Damon Stoudamire, Jase also possesses a quickness with the rock that makes guys checkin' him look like they're standing still.

5. Kenny Satterfield - Cincinnati, G, 6-2 - With dribbles straight from the Rucker, Satt's gonna ball his way into the draft.

4. Omar Cook - St. John's, PG, 6-1 - He better have one of the nastiest crossovers we've ever seen. With the Johnnies' supporting cast, he's runnin' for his life half the time.

3. Jason Williams - Duke, PG, 6-2 - It's not a surprise that the best floor general in the land can handle the pill. With his deadly J and explosive drives, however, his dribbles can sometimes be overlooked.

2. Rashad Phillips - Detroit, G, 5-10 - Rock City hasn't seen a handle like this guy's since Zeke. Other cats might get more headlines, but you can't sleep on Rashad.

1. Jamaal Tinsley - Iowa St., PG, 6-2 - There's little doubt about who has the best handle in this year's class. Tinsley learned his craft on the streets of NYC, so it's no surprise that he handles the pill with more ease than Elvis.
Honorable Mentions: Donald Hand (UVA), Tony Harris (UT), Karrem Rush (Mizzou), Jerry Sasser (SMU).
