COLLEGE: Started every game of his Cyclone career, compiling a record of 57-11 and winning two Big 12 Conference titles....In just two seasons, he finished his collegiate career at Iowa State ranked fifth in career assists (431) and fifth in career steals (177)....As a senior, he was runner-up to Shane Battier of Duke for National Player of the Year by The Associated Press....Selected to Second Team All-America by the AP, NABC First Team All-America and USBWA Second Team All-America....Earned Big 12 Player of the Year honors from the AP and the Big 12 Coaches....Selected to the Big 12 Conference First Team by the AP and the Big 12 Coaches and was a member of the Big 12 All-Defense Team....Ranked 24th in the nation in assists (6.0) and 20th in steals (2.5)....Leading the Cyclones in all four categories, he averaged 14.3 ppg, 6.0 apg, 2.5 spg and 0.6 bpg....The MVP in the Tribune Cyclone Challenge Tournament and Yahoo! Sports Invitational....Recorded four double-doubles and scored in double-figures 23 times....Handed out a career-high 14 assists against Western Carolina, 12/30, along with 10 points, three steals and two rebounds....Scored a career-high 29 points (10-19 FGS, 2-6 3-pt FGS, 7-9 FTS) and registered three rebounds, five assists and five steals against Nebraska, 3/3....Prior to his senior season, he toured Austria with the Big 12 All-Stars....Second-leading scorer (12.5) and led the team in assists (5.0) and steals (3.0)....As a member of the U.S. Select Team, he played only nine minutes vs. the U.S. Olympic Team on 9/2, due to a bruised knee....Rregistered one rebound, one assist and one steal....As a junior, he was voted Big 12 Newcomer of the Year by the AP and the Big 12 Coaches....Selected to the All-Big 12 Conference First Team by the AP and the All-Big 12 Conference Second Team by the coaches....Selected to the Big 12 Conference All-Tournament Team and the Big 12 All-Defense Team....Started a school-record 37 games and ranked second in the conference with averages of 6.6 assists and 2.7 steals....Ranked 13th with 1.0 blocks....Registered one triple-double and four double-doubles....Posted double-figure scoring 26 times....Established Iowa State's single season record for assists (244) and steals (98)....Scored 12 points and had 11 rebounds and 11 assists against Missouri, 1/8....Scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, five assists and three steals against Oklahoma State, 3/11....Scored a season-high 26 points (10-13 FGS, 2-2 3-pt FGS, 4-7 FTS) and had six rebounds, six assists and four steals against Central Connecticut State, 3/16....At Mount San Jacinto Community College, he was a two-time first team all-California Community College selection....Also a two-time Foothill Conference MVP and was the 1999 California Community College tri-player of the year. |
